NOTE: It is imperative that all paddlers including each member from SCORA and each member of a visiting crew, all coaches, all escort skippers, any person on any escort boat for any reason, and any person who accompanies that crew in any capacity sign a 2008 SCORA Release of Liability form. Please be aware that this is not an exhaustive list. If you are in doubt about whether an individual should sign a SCORA Release of Liability form, please ask them to do so.  If you have questions, please contact Vered Yakovee, SCORA Insurance Officer at vered@yakovee.com

    • Unload canoes (Offshore will help until 8:00 pm)
    • Event shirts go on sale
  • 7:00 pm Skippers meeting (Mandatory)
  • 7:30 pm Safety seminar (Mandatory)
  • 9:00 pm Registration closed

    Saturday, September 6

  • 7:20 am All canoes must be launched by this time
  • 7:50 am VHF time synchronization
  • 8:00 am Women's Race Start
  • 8:20 am Coed Race Start
  • 1-2:30 pm Approximate finish times at Casino Point, Avalon
  • 3:45 - 5:00 pm Mayor's Cup Presentation, Awards Ceremony & Reception at Descanso Beach Stage
  • 6:00 pm Skippers, Coaches, & Officials meeting at Descanso Beach Stage Area
  • 6:30 pm Skippers who were obtained by Offshore OCC: debriefing & appetizers at Descanso Beach

    IMPORTANT: Public consumption of alcohol is not permitted on Catalina Island. Only alcoholic beverages purchased at Descanso Beach facilities may be consumed at Descanso Beach. City officials will enforce these laws and citations will be issued to violators. Clubs in violation of these city laws will also be fined $100 by SCORA. Please respect the rules and policies of the city of Avalon so that we are assured future visits to the island for our event.

    Sunday, September 7

  • 9:00 am All canoes must be launched by this time
  • 10:00 am Men's Race Start
  • 2-3:00 pm Approximate finish times at Newport Dunes
  • 2:30 pm Food service & entertainment begins at Newport Dunes Pavilion B
  • 4:30 pm Awards Ceremony
