THE DEADLINE FOR INTENT TO PARTICIPATE HAS PASSED (December 31, 2007).
From August 1, 2008 through August 9, 2008, California will host the 13th International Va'a (Outrigger Canoe) World Championship at Lake Natoma near Sacramento.
SCORA members who are interested in racing in this world class event should have already contacted their club's head coach to let them know of their interest and to ask them to contact SCORA's IVF Representative, Lori Kitahata.
Coaches - SCORA's counting on you to put world class level crews together, coach them, and inform Lori Kitahata of your team's interest. If you cannot field a full crew, please send your individual recommendations to Lori and she will work on forming crews.
California crews have a limited number of lanes allotted. Time Trials will be held if crews numbers exceed allotted lanes.
If you plan to compete in OC1 divisions, start practicing your rudderless skills, because there is no rudder-full racing at this competition.
Event volunteers are needed. If you're interested in helping out, please inform Lori (and or read through the materials to identify the appropriate contacts up north).
Competitors and volunteers must be available for the duration of the event.
Please check this section of SCORA's Web site frequently for updated information.
