IVF World Sprint is a top level competition! SCORA is promoting we field the strongest teams possible! Any paddler interested should speak with their coaches for recommendation/reference. All participants should have current membership & must be active paddlers. Please refer to past IVF World Sprint times to see how you ‘rate’.
Time trials will be organized if necessary.
The World Sprint races are held every two years and the first was held in 1984, paddlers from Hawaii, California and Tahiti competed in Long Beach. The event is five days with practice days prior. The host creates the race schedule, which is not set in stone until the registration is closed. Even then the race schedule can be altered due to weather, protests or other unforeseen circumstances.
If you “commit” (pay/register/qualify) the IVF Sprint Races, you must be available for each day of the event. Again the schedule will be published but adjustments can and most likely will be! After heats are run, there are repecheges, semi finals and finals, you need to be available if/when your crew advances!

Food/beverage: market, restaurants. Vendors @ race site.
Tips for items to bring: PACK LIGHT! Carry-on necessary items, Rx & uniform. light wt rain jacket, rain tarp (multi-use), re-usable water bottle, wash cloths, sunscreen, jacket/polar fleece, insect repellent & insect antiseptic.

V1 = Teva Nui All Races are 500m straight sprint.
V6 = Bradley Lightening
V12 = Two V6 Va’a are rigged together. All races are a 500m straight sprint.

Flags turn @ 250 M, (Open div race: 1500m/5 turns, all other div 1000m with 3 turns.)

Divisions: (six divisions x (men & women) = 12, excluding adaptive.
Junior 16, Junior 19, Open, Masters (40 men, 35 women),
Senior Masters (50 men, 45 women),
Golden Masters (60 men, 55 women),
Adaptive (ref: “Adaptive paddler Rules & Classification System”)
SCORA: THREE competitors for each event excluding V12.

V6 (CO-ED) crews unlimited

V1 may be limited to 6 contestants, TBD.

Check list of items/information required per paddler:
- $20.00 deposit (per paddler, not per event) non-refundable – Due by March 1st, 2012
- Registration form completed
- IVF Waiver form completed
- Age verification and citizenship verification needed…
- Passport OR photo ID & birth certificate.
- Provide any medical information for Rx, preexisting injuries, allergies, etc.
- Doping Declaration: includes a medical release from your doctor for certain Rx.
- Emergency contact, cell phone number, name and relationship
- Paddlers contact information (name, mobile ph., address, email)
- Travel arrangements: flight info (dates & time), accommodations (name, phone number, address & dates of stay)
- If you are traveling with other paddlers, provide all names in your group.
- Provide events you are interested in participating in. (specifics:races, divisions, distances.)
- Provide your club name, coach’s name & phone or email.
- Provide your jersey and shorts sizes.
- (Women provide in men’s and women’s sizes.)
- Digital Passport type Photo (300kb max) will need to be submitted.

POCA Administraton Fee: $ 50.00
IVF Paddler Registration Fee: $ 50.00

BALANCE DUE: April 1st $ 80.00

Accommodations: 10 days x $ 40. $ 400.00
Flight round trip So Cal to Calgary Canada $ 500.00
Uniform – jersey $ 30.00
(Member Area must wear common uniform for opening ceremony. Each race crew must wear IDENTICAL jersey.)
Meals/water/snacks: 9 days x $ 20.00 $ 180.00
